# Entity controls

> Open and use the Home Assistant controls for a linked entity.

HA Link opens Home Assistant's existing entity details. The available controls depend on the entity and the integration that provides it.

  <Step title="Open an entity">
    On the **HA Link** page, find an entity under **Your entities**. Select its row to open the Home Assistant details dialog.

  <Step title="Use the available controls">
    Use the controls shown, such as a light switch, brightness slider, or media control, when supported. A sensor may show only a reading and history.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the result">
    Check the entity's state after using a control. Close the dialog to return to HA Link and see its latest reported state in the list.

  You can use a linked entity without leaving the HA Link workspace. The same entity is available elsewhere in Home Assistant.

  If an entity is unavailable or a control is missing, check its native integration and device connection. HA Link cannot add actions that the source integration does not support.
