# Usage & Limits

> Check requests, recent changes and API limits.

Usage shows how your account uses the API. Audit history shows which changes were made.

Both requests need `usage:read`.

## Try it

<CodeGroup>
  ```powershell CURL theme={null}
  curl "https://api.alexxweb.com/api/v1/usage?days=7" -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
  ```
</CodeGroup>

## What you'll see

Request counts are grouped by **day**, **route**, **status** and **credential ID**. Use `days` from 1 to 30; the default is 7.

Audit records include the action, time, target and credential ID. Keys, tokens and signing secrets are not included.

## Other requests

| Request | What it does |
| - | - |
| `GET /api/v1/usage` | Reads request counts for your account. |
| `GET /api/v1/audit` | Lists recent account actions. |

## API limits

| Limit | Amount |
| - | - |
| Authenticated requests | 120 per minute, per credential. |
| Public requests | 60 per minute, per IP address. |
| JSON request body | 16 KiB. |
| Default list size | 25 items; events default to 100. |
| Maximum list size | 100 items. |
| Stored resources / webhooks / schedules | 500 / 25 / 100 per account. |
| Open event streams | 5 per account. |

List requests accept `limit` and `offset`. Responses contain **data** and **pagination**, including **total** and **hasMore**. [Events](/v1/events) use a cursor instead.

If you reach the request limit, the API returns **429**. Wait for the number of seconds in the `Retry-After` header before retrying. Rate limit headers show the current allowance.

## If a request fails

```json theme={null}
{
  "error": {
    "code": "invalid_input",
    "message": "Check the request fields.",
    "requestId": "REQUEST_ID"
  }
}
```

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **400** | Invalid request fields or JSON. |
| **401** | Missing or invalid key or token. |
| **403** | Your credential lacks a required permission. |
| **404** | The requested item does not exist. |
| **409** | The change conflicts with existing data. |
| **410** | The event cursor is too old. |
| **412** | The resource version has changed. |
| **413** | The request body is too large. |
| **415** | Use the expected content type. |
| **429** | Too many requests; wait and retry. |

Every response includes `X-Request-Id`. Keep it when asking for help. OAuth token requests use the [OAuth error format](/v1/oauth).
