Choose your dashboard
Open an editable dashboard from Settings → Dashboards. To make one, select Add dashboard → New dashboard from scratch, give it a name, and select Create.

Edit the view
Open the dashboard and select the view you want. Select the edit button at the top right.

Add a card
In a Sections view, select the plus button inside a section. For other layouts, select Add card at the bottom right.

Select an existing entity
Choose By entity and select your device’s control or reading. Check Unassigned if the entity has no area.

Save and use the card
Choose a card from the preview and finish adding it. Select Done to save the view, then open the card to see the entity or use its controls.
Your dashboard now includes an existing Home Assistant entity.
