Use Google Cast to connect compatible Google Home and Nest speakers, displays, and Chromecast devices.
1

Open the speaker card

Open HA Link in the Home Assistant sidebar and find Google Home speakers. Select Set up, or Manage devices if Google Cast is already connected.
2

Check your network

Turn on your speakers and displays. Keep them on a network that Home Assistant can reach; an isolated guest network can prevent discovery.
3

Finish Google Cast setup

Follow the native Google Cast setup prompts. Home Assistant can discover compatible devices on your local network.
4

Find your speakers

Return to HA Link and select the refresh icon at the top (Refresh connections). Choose Google Home speakers in the route filter.
5

Open a speaker

Select its media-player entity. Use the available Home Assistant playback and volume controls.
Your compatible media devices are available from HA Link.
For Nest cameras, doorbells, and thermostats, use the Google Nest devices card.
If a speaker is missing, see the official Google Cast guide.
